Mr Lim joined the South East Colorectal team in February 2013.
Mr James Lim is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Monash Health. He is a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia & New Zealand (CSSANZ), having completed post-fellowship training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Westmead Hospital, and Box Hill Hospital.
He specialises in robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery for colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and rectal prolapse. He has a particular interest in surgery for haemorrhoids, anal fistulae, and performs advanced colonoscopy, laser surgery, endoscopic pilonidal sinus surgery, 3D endoanal ultrasonography and anorectal physiology.
He is the CSSANZ Director of Colorectal Training at Monash Health, a Lecturer at Monash University Medical School, and has co-authored a surgical textbook. He was awarded the Nairn Medal in pathology.
Mr Lim is married with two children and enjoys fishing, photography and travelling with his family.
