To be eligible for a Medicare rebate you are required to have either a GP or Specialist referral. If you are referred by a GP your referral is valid for 12 months. Specialist referrals are only valid for 3 months. If you think that your condition will require visits to South East Colorectal for a period longer than 3 months we suggest that you contact your specialist to obtain a referral for 12 months. If you are referred by a Specialist please provide us with your GP details on our Patient Information form. The surgeons at South East Colorectal keep all referring and treating medical practitioners informed of your progress. Please advise your surgeon or our staff of the names of all the health professionals that are currently involved in your treatment. |
An account is associated with all visits. Accounts are payable on the day of consultation, however all accounts are claimable from Medicare. Pensioners are billed at a reduced rate to ensure minimal out-of-pocket expenses. Extra charges may be incurred depending on examinations performed (facility fee). Should you have any further queries, please speak with one of our helpful staff. Informed financial consent will be obtained for all procedures performed by the surgeons at South East Colorectal. |
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that unplanned issues can arise, and you may need to cancel an appointment. Should this occur, we respectfully ask that scheduled appointments be cancelled at least 24 hours in advanced.
Our surgeons want to be available for your needs and for the needs of all our patients. When you do not show for a scheduled appointment, other patients lose the opportunity to be seen. Appointments are in high demand, and your advance notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.
